Radio Networks
| There usually are three radio networks, (aka nets), the are used at a whitewater slalom. These nets are on seperate frequences that are chosen to create as little interference, or crosstalk, between the nets as possible. |

Start/Finish Net
| The Start/Finish Net allows communication between Start and Finish in order to start and time the competitors. In addition this net is connected to Scoring to allow the transmission of times to Scoring Operator #4 at the scoring table. Scoring Operator #1 listens to this net in order to select the correct score strip as each boat starts down the course. |

Upstream Gate Station Net
| The Upstream Gate Station Net allows communication between the upstream gate judging stations, "A", "B" and possibly "C", and Operator #2 at Scoring. This allows the gate penalties for each competitor to be communicated to Scoring from the upstream gate judging satations. |

Downstream Gate Station Net
| The Downstream Gate Station Net allows communication between the downstream gate judging stations, "D", "E" and possibly "C" and/or "F", and Operator #3 at Scoring. This allows the gate penalties for each competitor to be communicated to Scoring from the downstream gate judging satations. |

Public Address System
| A public address system, although not nessicary, is a handy thing to have. It allows race officials to disseminate information to competitors and spectators quickly and efficiently. |
